For those who follow me on tumblr, you'd know that for the past six days I've been plugging away at pages for an interactive comic for my senior thesis. Well hurray, it's complete! This is probably the fastest I've ever produced a project of this size before, but despite the time-crunch I'm really satisfied with the final product.
My goal for this project was to not only tell a story in a new medium (a flash comic) but I wanted to try my hand at retelling a narrative in a completely different form-- What I chose to do was translate Ludo's song "Lake Pontchartrain", an audio time-based piece, into this flash comic, a visual time-based piece. The song has a fantastically told narrative that I've been wanting to work with for awhile now, so I'm extraordinarily happy that I've had my chance!
For my first time working in flash, I'm really happy with how everything worked out, and I definitely want to do more with it in the future!
Also, though it is stated in the credits of the comic, I will reiterate that I take no credit for the dialogue/lyrics or narrative, and that solely belongs to Ludo. This was a fan-inspired derivative work created because this song is pretty freaking awesome, and if you haven't given it a listen, I definitely encourage you to!
Otherwise, what you see is my interpretation of the lyrics.
Enjoy!Should the flash fail to load on deviantArt for whatever reason, it can also be viewed on my portfolio site here
